The Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program seeks to attract qualified workers to boost economic growth in Canada’s Atlantic provinces. New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island are among the Atlantic provinces.

This is an employer-driven initiative aimed at assisting firms in Atlantic Canada in hiring competent applicants for jobs that cannot be filled locally. To participate in the program, you must have a job offer from a recognized business (designated employers) in Atlantic Canada.

To be eligible for this program, you must be a recent graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada or a skilled worker.

You might be residing overseas or in Canada as a temporary resident.

How to proceed to your overseas settlement location?

If you need an immediate answer, we recommend the Canada Atlantic Immigration Program, which is currently popular across the world.

Applicants must have an official work offer to be eligible for the Atlantic Immigration Program. Obtaining a genuine Canadian job offer for immigration reasons usually necessitates obtaining a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA exceptional category). The Atlantic Immigration Program does not require this. Instead, the employment offer must come from a specific business.

The Atlantic Immigration Program began as a pilot program in 2017 and was declared permanent in early 2022. Each year, the AIP is in charge of welcoming nearly 6,000 newcomers to the Atlantic provinces.

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment and Social Development Canada, or proof that an employer has made an offer of employment and paid the employer compliance fee through the Employer Portal.
