Canada launches a new Digital Nomad policy.

The Canadian immigration minister has stated that by the end of 2023, the federal government will be building an immigration pathway for “some of the world’s most talented people who will be able to come to Canada to work for tech companies, whether they have a job offer or not.”

Canada has suggested a digital nomad policy that will allow foreign-employed individuals to reside and work in Canada for up to six months. If they receive a job offer while in Canada, they can stay even longer.
The Digital Nomad visa allows internationals to come to Canada and live and work remotely for firms or clients in other countries.

The Canadian immigration minister has stated that by the end of 2023, the federal government will be building an immigration pathway for “some of the world’s most talented people who will be able to come to Canada to work for tech companies, whether they have a job offer or not.”

Though the government has not specified who will be eligible or how many people will be admitted through this strategy, according to a news release, the government will create an ‘innovation stream’ under its international mobility program for skilled workers in select in-demand occupations or destined for work with companies the government has identified as contributing to their innovation goals
